Vehicles we accept in Delaware

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

At First State Autos, we’re proud to accept nearly any vehicle, whether it’s drivable or not! Our vehicle donation program helps local residents access vital services while ensuring that all types of vehicles find a second life. From cars that have seen better days to working trucks and beyond, your donation can make a difference. We understand that every vehicle has a story, and we embrace them all to serve our Delaware community. By donating your vehicle, you’re not just getting rid of clutter; you’re contributing to an incredible cause that connects your neighbors with crucial benefits and resources.

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
2000-present

Donated cars and sedans are typically auctioned off to the highest bidder, generating funds that support our community services. If they’re not in working condition, they may be salvaged for parts or recycled responsibly.

With so many people commuting across Delaware, donated cars often help provide affordable transport to those in need, especially in urban areas.

Pickup Trucks
1995-present

Pickup trucks are often resold at auction, as there is a strong demand for reliable work vehicles. If they’re not in running order, they may be dismantled for valuable parts.

From construction sites to local farms, these sturdy trucks are essential for Delaware’s workforce, making their donation impactful.

SUVs & Crossovers
2005-present

SUVs and crossovers usually find a new home through our auction process, appealing to families and outdoor enthusiasts. Those that don’t run may be recycled.

In communities across Delaware, larger vehicles support families with room for kids and gear, especially during beach outings.

Motorcycles
2000-present

Motorcycle donations often appeal to niche buyers at auction. If they’re non-running, we utilize parts for repairs or recycling.

With scenic routes along the coast, motorcycles add to the leisure activities of Delawareans, and your donation can help keep this culture alive.

RVs & Campers
1995-present

RVs and campers are typically auctioned, attracting travel enthusiasts and adventurers looking for a great deal. If not operational, they may be dismantled for parts.

Delaware’s campgrounds see many families every summer, and donated RVs help ensure more families can join in on the fun.

Boats
1990-present

Boats are usually sold at auction or can be repurposed for parts if they’re not seaworthy. This helps generate funds for our community support programs.

The Delaware Bay is known for its boating culture, and your donation can help someone get back on the water.

Commercial Vehicles
2000-present

Commercial vehicles may be auctioned off to businesses needing reliable vehicles or decommissioned for parts if they’re unusable.

From delivery trucks to service vans, these vehicles help support local businesses throughout Delaware.

Non-running Vehicles
Any year

Even non-running vehicles can be donated. They are typically assessed for either parts or scrap value, allowing us to extract their worth for local funding.

Finding a new life for these vehicles contributes to recycling efforts and aids local residents.

Condition guide

When it comes to donating your vehicle, we understand that not every car runs perfectly. Vehicles are accepted whether they are in working condition or not. A running vehicle can be auctioned off, but don’t worry if your car isn’t drivable; we can still work with it. Our team will guide you on the best steps for vehicles in need of repair or that have reached the end of their life expectancy.

It’s also important to be aware of the different title statuses. A clear title is preferred, but we also accept vehicles with salvage titles. Rebuilt or reconstructed titles may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. If there's a lienholder present, we may require more information. Vehicles missing titles can still qualify, but the process may take additional steps to ensure everything is in order.
